2022 Escudo Rojo Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon – 93 points James Suckling

10 months, 80% French oak barrels / 20% new barrels and 80% 1-to-2-year-old barrels.

Brilliant, ruby-red with delicate purple highlights. Very fresh and complex, with extremely intense fruity notes of blueberry, cranberry and blackcurrant, combined with spicy hints of bay leaf, aniseed, tobacco and leather, interlaced with smooth notes of cedar and caramel imparted by barrel ageing.

Starts out very elegant and sophisticated on the palate, with fresh and fruity notes. Fine-grained yet firm tannins provide good tension mid-palate. This is a complex, fairly rich and full-bodied wine. The red fruit and spicy notes return on the long finish, accompanied by good acidity.

Deep red with violet hues. Intense blackberries, ripe plums, black chocolate and spicy notes. Great volume and structure, with round tannins, good acidity and a long and persistent ending.

Maceration: Stainless steel tanks. Fermentation time: 8 days. Temperature: 77-82 ºF. Malolactic fermentation: Yes. Ageing Process: Aged in steel tanks with French oak staves for 6 months.

Intense ruby-red colour with red fruits such as raspberries, strawberries and sour cherries, with a light spicy touch. Balanced, fresh, with soft and pleasant tannins.

2019 Bodegas LAN Vina Lanciano – 94 points GG Gourmets
Rioja, Spain – 89% Tempranillo, 9% Graziano, 2% Mazuelo – 14.0% ABV

Hand harvested grapes. Each of the varieties were fermented separately in truncated-cone shaped stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation took place in Tronçais French oak barrels. Aged for 16 months in Tronçais oak barrels and matured for an additional 9 months in concrete tanks. Aged in bottle for 12 months.

Very bright, ripe cherry red with a reddish rim. Aromas of ripe red fruit with floral hints of violets, blended with notes of oak, such as spice, cinnamon and a touch of minerality. Expressive and intense, very fruity and balsamic on the aftertaste, with a long-lasting, persistent finish.

3 to 4 months in stainless steel tanks in contact with its lees.

Clean and brilliant, straw yellow with greenish highlights and a dense body. On the nose, it is fresh and aromatic. It evokes aromas of wild herbs, white fruit and citrus. Fresh and vibrant with very good acidity, it is a straightforward wine that represents the descriptors of the olfactory phase in the mouth, delivering freshness and smoothness.

Uco Valley – Mendoza, Argentina – 100% Malbec – 14.9% ABV

4 months in French oak barrels.

Deep red colour with violet dyes. On the nose red fruits, ripe plum, blackberry, spicy fragrances such as black pepper are perceived. Chocolate and vanilla notes. In the mouth it has personality, complex with good structure, soft and ripe tannins. Balanced and with a persistent mouth finish.
